International Literacy Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Ladyhill English Higher Primary School. The event, conducted by the students of Class 1, aimed to emphasize the importance of literacy in our lives and recognize the efforts of our educators and students in promoting education.

The day began with the Lighting of the Vidhya Jyothi, symbolizing the light of knowledge that dispels the darkness of ignorance. This significant ceremony was performed by the Chief Guest, CA Prithvi Shetty, along with our Principal, Sr. Jenifer Moras AC, Vice Principal, Sr. Ivy Moras AC and two students. Their participation underscored the importance of the event and set a reverent tone for the proceedings.

Following this, a soulful prayer service was conducted, filling the atmosphere with hope and positivity.

Our esteemed Chief Guest, CA Prithvi Shetty, was then introduced. A distinguished professional and an alumna of our school, she has made significant contributions to the fields of accountancy and education. Her presence served as a profound source of inspiration for everyone. A floral welcome was extended to the chief guest and other dignitaries adding a touch of elegance to the occasion.

The event continued with a vibrant welcome dance performed by our talented students. Their graceful movements and colourful costumes added a festive touch to the celebration.

A segment was dedicated to explaining the significance of the day. It was highlighted that literacy encompasses more than just reading and writing; it is a fundamental human right and a cornerstone of social and economic development.

A special dance performance illustrated the vital role of education in our lives, creatively depicting how education empowers individuals, transforms communities, and drives progress.

The action dance titled "I Love Reading" showcased the advantages of reading. Through energetic and engaging choreography, the students conveyed how reading enhances knowledge, stimulates imagination, and improves language skills.
