Ladyhill English Higher Primary School marked a memorable milestone as it hosted a splendid Parents’ Sports Day on February 22, 2025, as part of its Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. The event, held at the Ladyhill School Grounds, was a perfect blend of enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and community spirit.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Pradeep D’Souza, Joint Director, Planning & Statistics Dept. and Deputy Director, District Youth Empowerment & Sports Department; Sr. Violet Tauro AC, Joint Secretary of Ladyhill Institutions; Sr. Jenifer Moras AC, Principal; Sr. Ivy Moras AC, Vice Principal; Mrs. Sandrich D’Souza, PTA Vice President; Tr. Nisha D'Souza, PTA Secretary; and PTA members were warmly welcomed by the vibrant school band, setting the tone for a day filled with energy and excitement.

The inaugural ceremony began with a prayer song by the students, invoking blessings for the success of the event. This was followed by a welcome speech by the PTA Vice President, Mrs. Sandrich D’Souza, who expressed gratitude for the parents' participation. A symbolic flower pot presentation to the Chief Guest added a special touch to the occasion. The lighting of the lamp symbolized unity and highlighted the unifying power of sports.

In her address, Sr. Jenifer Moras AC, the Principal, emphasized the importance of fostering an active lifestyle among parents and setting an example for their children. The Chief Guest, Mr. Pradeep D’Souza, in his inspiring speech, encouraged parents to incorporate sports into their daily routine, highlighting its benefits for both physical and mental well-being. Following his speech, a vote of thanks was delivered by PTA member Mrs. Avitha, expressing appreciation for everyone’s contributions. The event was smoothly compered by PTA member Mr. Paresh, ensuring an engaging and well-coordinated program.

Following the formal ceremony, the much-awaited sports events began with an exciting inauguration at the volleyball court. Parents enthusiastically participated in various individual and group events, making the day a lively and thrilling experience. The sports arena was filled with cheers as ladies competed in events like the lemon and spoon race and slow walk, while gentlemen showcased their skills in the reverse walk and scooter race. A highlight of the day was the balloon balance event for couples, which added an element of fun and teamwork.

A unique event, “Bombing the City,” brought together ex-PTA members, ex-teachers, ex-parents, and ex-students, rekindling nostalgia and strengthening the bond with the school. The group events saw electrifying matches of Throw Ball and Tug of War for ladies and Volleyball and Tug of War for gentlemen, where participants exhibited remarkable team spirit and competitiveness.

The closing ceremony was a proud moment as the PTA members felicitated the winners, acknowledging their efforts and enthusiasm. The Principal, Sr. Jenifer Moras AC, extended heartfelt thanks to all the participants, PTA members, staff and volunteers for their invaluable contribution in making the event a grand success.
